A Perfect Chatham Wedding

It was a spectacular day for our string quartet to play for Samantha and Rob’s backyard wedding. A private residence in Chatham, MA provided the outdoor setting, complete with a huge tree that offered the shade we needed for our instruments.

Samantha had nine bridesmaids dressed in “hydrangea blue”. I think that’s the official town color; even the fire hydrants are painted that color.

The first processional was “Prelude in C Major” by Bach. This was originally written for organ/piano but has been arranged for string trio and quartet. It’s often combined with Gounod’s version of “Ave Maria”. The remaining processionals were “Air” by Bach and “Canon” by Pachelbel. Everyone recessed to a very happy “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles. We continued with “When I’m Sixty-four” while the guests exited.

The reception was held at the Chatham Bars Inn. Although we didn’t play for cocktail hour, we heard that everyone had a great time at the reception.
