I often write special string duo, trio and quartet arrangements of popular songs for weddings. They’re used for processionals and recessionals as well as during the wedding ceremony itself (unity candle lighting, between readings, etc.). The most recent was “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles.
The bride and groom wanted our string trio to play a song at the end of the ceremony that was meaningful to the two of them. They went out and found sheet music containing the piano part and I rewrote it to be played by two violins and a cello.
I loved watching the look on their faces as they walked by me on their way out.
