Boston Harbor Hotel Trio with Piano, Violin and Cello

The Boston Harbor Hotel’s Wharf Room was the venue Nicole and Kevin chose for their very lovely wedding ceremony.

This was an extra fun experience for us because Nicole’s friend, Chris, played a few of the pieces with us instead of our regular pianist. He was very enthusiastic and great to work with.

Claire, one of the bridesmaids, sang “Come Away With Me” by Norah Jones. We played the “John Dunbar Theme” from Dances With Wolves for the bridal party entrances. We played mostly old jazz standards during cocktail hour in the rotunda, which has a spectacular view of Boston harbor.

Brides often ask me if they have to use the traditional wedding music for their ceremonies. My answer is that anything goes these days, so choose what you really like. If you have a special song, go ahead and ask your ensemble to play it.

By the way, Nicole Simeral, the hotel’s event coordinator, was a huge help. She works with a wonderful staff who are all very helpful to visiting vendors.
