Our string duo loves the intimacy of a backyard wedding, especially on a beautiful September evening. Mariann and David chose his parents’ home for their multi-cultural celebration.
The yard was large enough to have a tent for dinner and dancing, and a separate area for the ceremony. Since many of the guests traveled from South America to attend, the ceremony was in English with Spanish translation. Wish we could have stayed for the reception. I’m sure there was plenty of Salsa dancing!
Meghan LeCates officiated and Heather Minicucci of Simply Inviting Weddings helped plan the entire day. The song “Love” by John Lennon had special meaning for the couple so we played it for the recessional. It was an unusual choice but really lovely. “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and “Canon in D” were the processionals. Mariann asked for old jazz standards and popular tunes for cocktail hour.
