Julie and Steven are big fans of Jason Mraz and we had a fabulous day playing for their wedding. Julie walked down the aisle to “Clair De Lune” but she asked us to play “Lucky” for their recessional. If you’re familiar with the song, you know that it’s sung as a duet between Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. This worked perfectly for our violin/cello duo. In addition to “Lucky” I’ve also arranged Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and “I Won’t Give Up” for string duo, trio and quartet.
Many Wequassett events are held on the lawn next to the water with cocktail hour on the large terrace above, but because there were just 20 guests, the ceremony was held on the small patio overlooking Pleasant Bay. Cocktail hour was up a short flight of stairs to another patio off the dining room. It’s nice to know that there’s an alternative for small weddings.
BTW, Cocktail hour was filled with songs by Coldplay, U2, The Beatles and Journey. We had a blast!
