It’s always a treat to play at Boston’s Four Seasons Hotel. It’s elegant and, with Philip Deschamps as the event coordinator, weddings run really smoothly.
This was a second marriage for the groom so there were several children in the bridal party. The ceremony was held in the ballroom, which overlooks the Boston Public Garden. The bride and groom had pictures taken there.
The processionals, played by a violin, viola and cello trio, were Handel “Air” and “Trumpet Voluntary” by Clarke. (We play this with or without trumpet. I think it sounds great with all strings.)
Laura was looking for something cute for the recessional. We played the theme from the move “Up”. She thought the children would enjoy it. I wasn’t sure we’d ever be asked to play it again but we’ve already performed it twice as a recessional and also had requests to play it during cocktail hour.
