Lauren and Jeff’s wedding was long-planned for the oceanside lawn of the Wequassett Resort in Harwich, MA. And, as sometimes happens on Cape Cod, it rained. Fortunately that isn’t a huge problem at the Wequassett and the ceremony was moved to the shelter of a terrace overlooking Pleasant Bay. We all stayed dry and the backdrop was still spectacular.
The bridal couple had specific pieces in mind for their processionals. We played “Theme from Braveheart” for the bridal party entrances and “Edelweiss” for the bride. The three pieces played during the ceremony were Shubert’s “Ave Maria”, “Greensleeves” and “Fur Elise”. “Viva La Vida” was the very upbeat recessional. Our violin/cello duo rocked it!
Our string duo switched to a mix of classical, old jazz standards and popular songs for cocktail hour.
