Joan of Arc in Orleans on Cape Cod is a beautiful contemporary church and — good news for summer weddings — it has air conditioning!
That’s something couples often forget to consider when they select a ceremony site. It can be both hot and humid during the summer so it’s really nice to have the option of AC.
Another plus, Joan of Arc provides a coordinator for the wedding processional and this always makes a huge difference. Everyones’ walk down the aisle goes smoothly and the musicians don’t have to skip a beat. The mothers, bridesmaids, ring bearer and flower girls all processed to Handel “Air”. The bride walked down the aisle to “Canon in D”.
Lindsay and Christopher chose to have a string trio accompany our singer. The offertory song was “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and communion was “Ave Maria”. The recessional was “I Want To Hold Your Hand”. (It’s a good idea to always check with your priest before selecting a popular song as many churches don’t allow them.) We enjoyed working with Father Fitzpatrick on this full mass wedding.
