It’s definitely unusual to have a solo cellist play at a wedding, but that’s exactly what Lauren and Ben wanted for their ceremony at the Pierce House in Lincoln, MA last week. Arriving guests were seated to the sound of the solo cello and the ceremony began with the “Prelude from Unaccompanied Suite No. 1” for the processional for the bridal party and bride. “Gigue” from the same suite was played for the recessional.
Since the weather was rainy, the ceremony was held under a tent overlooking the garden. They still had lovely views so it felt like we were still outdoors. The tent was reset for dinner and dancing while cocktails were served on the wraparound porch. If you’re looking for something that’s a little different, solo cello is a great idea.
