I played for two weddings last weekend at the Wequassett Inn. It’s a beautiful place for a wedding, right on the water in Chatham. But while the sun was shining and the venue picture-perfect, it was also WINDY and COLD.
Having played there before, the Intermezzo Chamber Players were prepared for 55 degree temperatures and gusty winds off the water but the guests were NOT. Most of the women were wearing cocktail dresses and no wraps. I could see the goose-bumps on their arms from 30 feet away and as we played the prelude, I heard them complaining about how cold it was.
Brides, always let your guests know if your ceremony will take place outdoors so they can bring coats if it’s below 65 degrees.
Good luck with your wedding ceremony music planning!
