We never get tired of playing at the Wequassett Resort in Chatham, MA. With a a wide expanse of Pleasant Bay for a backdrop, you can’t find a more beautiful setting for your ceremony and reception. If it rains (rarely), your ceremony is held on the terrace with a fantastic view of the water. Rain or shine, it’s a win, win situation.
Last October, our string trio played for Jenna’s wedding in Plymouth. She was very organized and knew exactly what she wanted for a personalized ceremony. Less than a year later her sister Lauren got married on the Wequassett lawn. It was one of those magical evenings with perfect light for photos and a comfortable temperature for guests and musicians.
Lauren was also very organized (must run in the family) and created an intimate and personal wedding. I only wish there were a few more siblings!
Lauren and Tommy chose “Ave Maria” by Schubert for the mothers’ entrance. Handel “Air” was played for the maid of honor, best man and flower girl. Lauren walked down the aisle to “Canon in D” by Pachelbel. They decided not to have any music played during the ceremony. The recessional was “Alla Hornpipe” from The Water Music by Handel. Cocktail hour was all classical selections, with a couple of tangos at the end.
A special “Thanks” to Kalson Pang, head of catering and events at the Weqaussett, for running a “tight ship” and keeping things on time.
