Prospect Hill Park in Somerville, MA was the location for Debra and Bennet’s ceremony in July. I didn’t know that it was available for weddings but a city-issued permit is all it takes (and guests can park in “resident only” spots!)
We had a lot of fun playing the music Debra and Bennet chose since they weren’t exactly part of our usual wedding repertoire.“Ripple” by the Grateful Dead and “Yellow” by Coldplay were the processionals. Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” was played during the ceremony. “Friday I’m In Love” by The Cure and “When I’m Sixty-Four by the Beatles were the recessionals.
Arrangements were written for each song to fit the chosen instruments (two violins and cello). These songs can also be played by a duo and quartet. If you like music like this, be sure to ask your musicians if they can play it. Some prefer not to.
