Jessica and Aron were married at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston. The ceremony took place in the Oriental Gallery, a large, beautifully decorated room. Since it was a warm day, cocktail hour was outside in the Sitting Grove. It’s nice to have the option of using an outdoor space for part of your reception. Guests returned to the Oriental Gallery for dinner and dancing.
I’m always amazed at how quickly the hotel staff changes the room from ceremony location to dinner ready in one hour! Catering chief honcho Mark Schwindenhammer and wedding coordinator Jessica Jordan ran the show and were great to work with.
We played “Yedid Nefesh” and “Erev Shel Shoshanim” for processionals and “Simon Tov” was the recessional. It’s a great way to end the ceremony because it’s very upbeat and gets your guests clapping as the bridal couple leaves the room. Cocktail hour included a mix of tangos, Broadway tunes and old jazz standards.
