Pleasant Bay is one of the most beautiful locations on Cape Cod and most couples hold their ceremony on the lawn of the Wequassett Resort. You never know what you’ll get when planning an outdoor ceremony. May can be warm and sunny or cool and rainy. Betsy and Dennis got the latter but were able to have their wedding outside anyway.
It was a misty day so the resort staff provided umbrellas for all of the guests and an oversize one to keep our quartet dry. We all moved to the enclosed patio for cocktail hour.
The upbeat bridal couple requested contemporary popular songs for the prelude, especially “A Thousand Years”. Processionals were “What a Wonderful World” for grandparents, groomsmen and groom’s parents, “Halo” for the bridesmaids, and “Canon in D” for Betsy’s walk down the aisle. The recessional was “You’re So Cool”. Our string quartet played a mix of old jazz standards and more popular songs during cocktail hour.
